You don’t find out if Donnie is hallucinating or not until the end, when he wakes up in his bed on the same day he started seeing the rabbit. Suddenly, a jet engine crashes through his house and kills him, revealing everything was a dream, except for the déjà vu certain characters experience after seeing the engine crash through the house.
