The Rev. Matthew J. Morelli, currently parochial vicar of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral Parish in Greensburg, will become the new pastor of Good Shepherd Parish in Kent, succeeding the Rev. William J. Lechnar.

Meanwhile,  the Rev. James B. Morley, parochial vicar of St. Paul and St. Bruno parishes in the Greensburg area, will succeed the Rev. E. George Saletrik as pastor of Church of the Resurrection Parish in northern Indiana County.

Saletrik will move to Trafford, along the Westmoreland-Allegheny county line, where he will be new pastor of St. Regis Parish.

Lechnar served at Good Shepherd since 2014 and had been pastor of St. Thomas More University Parish in Indiana (2005-2012) and Mother of Sorrows Parish in Murrysville (2012-2014).

Lechnar is being transferred to Armstrong County, where he will be pastor of St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadelupe Parish in Kittanning and St. Mary, Mother of God Parish in Yatesboro.

Jerome Zufelt of the diocesan Office of Communications and Evangelization said 27 priests are included in a list of pastoral appointments that were announced Sunday in parishes across the four-county diocese.
