The Bolivar Fire Company will host several events and offer other fundraising efforts in the coming weeks.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual carnival has been canceled. The fire department will instead host a carnival refreshment sale on July 10 and 11 from 5 to 8 p.m. (or until sold out). There will be hot dogs, hamburgers (with or without special sauce), french fries with cheese, pop, water and more. Customers can eat at the station or take food to go.

Any questions can be directed to John Speidel at (724) 676-4714.

The department is also selling $10 tickets in which the winner receives the following: a roll each of $30, $20, $10 and $5 Pennsylvania Lottery scratch-off tickets and $100 in cash for a total worth of $2,500.

There are two numbers per ticket, and the winner will be taken off the first 7 p.m. Pick Three number drawn on July 25.

See any member to purchase these tickets or call the fire hall at (724) 676-4720 after 6 p.m. any Monday evening.

A sub and pizza sale will be offered July 18. Orders must by placed with any member or by calling the fire hall by July 12.

The annual three-month calendar ticket sold each fall by the fire company is on sale now. This ticket goes off each day on the first 7 p.m. lottery Daily Number drawn starting on Oct. 1 and ending on Dec. 31. Over $6,5500 will be given away. The amount paid each day varies from $50 on Sunday through Friday, $100 on Saturdays and $500 on Halloween, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Tickets can be purchased from any member or by calling the fire hall.

The Bolivar Volunteer Fire Company is always looking for individuals interested in helping the community by volunteering their time with the fire company. Members do not have to actively respond to emergency incidents to assist.
