The Cookport Antique Machinery Summer Show continues through Sunday in Cookport, where a variety of events are on the schedule.

An 8,000-pound Stone Boat Pull is set for 7 p.m. today.

On Saturday, events begin at 10 a.m., and on Sunday at 11 a.m.

Events include tractor pulls, baler demonstrations, a cornhole tournament, sack race, car cruz-in and more.

Vendors are Deb’s Home Cooking, Lori’s Concession, J&J Funnel Cakes, Bono’s Pizza and Rocket Concession.

Don’t forget about the spaghetti dinner benefit to help cover the cost of funeral expenses for Richard “Ricky” Rearick, set for 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Iselin Fire Hall.

Cost is $8 per plate. Donations will also be accepted.

To make a separate donation, write a check to the Iselin Fire Department, and write “Ricky Rearick” in the memo line.

Rearick passed away June 1 in a carport collapse at his Young Township home.


Diamond Elite, a local competitive twirling team, recently won championships in the categories of junior production, junior large dance twirl, junior large novelty, juvenile medium dance and junior large pom. Becca Perrone, of Northern Cambria, and Cassidy Davis, of Hastings, won in the strut duet category.

A panel of out-of-state judges selected the winners from the groups that performed at a baton-twirling competition sponsored by Twirling Unlimited last month in York.

The team is led by directors Summer Davis and Amber Woody. After traveling to a number of area contests this season, the team has already begun preparations for the 2019-20 season.


Celebrate our pollinator friends on Saturday at the Indiana County Farmers’ Market from 9 a.m. to noon at Eighth and Church streets, Indiana.

Learn about pollinators and visit with folks from Indiana PA Honeybee to enjoy live music, dancing bees and more.

Bolivar Parks and Recreation will host a  free community concert from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Burkey Park, Fourth and Lincoln streets.

The band Gas House Annie will perform.

Dawn Frye’s antique store, Echos, will hold a moving sale today, Saturday and Sunday at the store, located behind Frye’s Antiques at Old Route 119 and Route 110.

The store opens at 10 a.m., and everything must go.

There will be a large selection of antique furniture and collectibles, as well as hundreds of items under $10.
