Parents and caretakers of young children can have their kids’ car seats checked today by state police to make sure the seats are the right fit and are installed correctly.

Troopers from the Indiana station are offering the free service in conjunction with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s “Click It or Ticket” campaign.

Caregivers are invited to visit with certified child passenger safety technicians from 2 to 5 this afternoon at the Indiana West fire station, 1555 Indian Springs Road, to have car seats inspected and for instructions on how to install seats and harness their young passengers.

State police have posted a calendar of other free child seat check programs online at www.psp.pa.gov.
