The August meeting of the Evergreen Garden Club was a work day at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Heritage Garden. Members in their pink club shirts trimmed and weeded the gardens to get ready for the fall season.

The next club meeting will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday. Please note that the program is changed and will be on winter bird feeding by club member Marcy Cunkelman. Cunkelman is the current District VI director and the State GCFP Birds and Butterflies chairwoman. She has done programs for various groups and leads tours in their yard, Cunkelman’s Safe Haven. She will give a slide presentation of various birds you will see during the winter and show the correct feeders to use with the different bird seeds.

A business meeting will follow the program. Hostesses will be Carol Miller and

Andi Pociask. Guests are invited to come and see how you can attract birds out your window and learn more about the club.

If you have any more “Santa Surprises” or paper products for the raffle, please bring to the meeting. Tickets will be available soon for Tinsel Time. There may be more spaces open for vendors, if there are enough applications to open another room. If interested in being a vendor, contact Cunkelman ASAP at plant4nature@gmail. com or by calling (724) 459-7229.
