Musical guests

SAGAMORE — The Lordsmen will be in concert at 7 p.m. today and 11 a.m. Sunday at Community Bible Church.

Snacks will follow the Saturday performance, and lunch will follow Sunday’s concert.

Combined services

Lay worship leader Jane Miller will lead worship on Nov. 10 at the combined service of Grove Chapel and Harmony Grove Lutheran churches at Grove Chapel Lutheran Church, 2539 Grove Chapel Road, Rayne Township.

Missionary visit

The Grindean family, currently living in Indianapolis, are missionaries elect to Bolivia, South America.

They will be serving under the auspices of the World Gospel Mission, with headquarters in Marion, Ind., Colby and Kim Grindean have three daughters with their parents and eventually going with their parents to Bolivia.

They will be speaking and sharing their concern and vision for the people in Bolivia during the 10:40 a.m. Sunday service at Independent Traditional Holiness Church, 5065 Ferguson Road.

COURAGE and Cancer meeting

COURAGE and Cancer will meet from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the Welcome Center of Grace United Methodist Church on the corner of Church and Seventh streets, Indiana.

This month’s topic is “How’s your immune system these days?” Sue Majoris, R.N., will lead the discussion on staying well in the winter during cold and flu season. In addition, Natalie Glaser and Pastor Kathy Mihoerck will discuss saying no to stress through the holidays.

Anyone who lives with cancer is welcome.

Please use the back entrance of the church. Parking is free in the borough lot directly behind the church on Sundays.

The group meets the second Sunday of each month at the same time and location.

Craft shows

COMMODORE — Purchase Line United Methodist Church, 17107 Route 286, will hold a craft show from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16.

Applications are being accepted from craft and home vendors and are due by Monday.

A holiday craft show will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 7 at First Christian Church, 500 Water St., Indiana.

In addition to local vendors and direct sales representatives, there will be a bake sale, basket raffle and the kitchen will be open and offering a variety of food.

One-night rally

The Lighthouse, Morning Star Ministries, 4886 Route 240, Cherry Tree, will be hosting a one-night rally at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The well-known television evangelists Drs. Rodney and Adonica Howard-Browne are the founders of Revival

Ministries International, The River at Tampa Bay Church, River Bible Institute, River School of Worship, Tampa, Fla.

In December 1987, Rodney, Adonica and their three children moved from their native land of South Africa to the United States, called by God as missionaries from Africa to America to bring a revival to the U.S.

In April 1989, the Lord sent a revival of signs, wonders and miracles in Clifton Park, N.Y., and has continued until today — thousands of people touched by the living God, saving, healing, delivering, restoring and setting free.

The public is invited to come to this one-night rally. All denominations are called to come together in unity as we worship together and see the power of God coming to our communities.

Spaghetti dinner

An all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner will be held from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Lewisville, 5620 Newport Road, Clarksburg.

Cost is $8 per adult and $4 for kids younger than 12.

Take-outs will be available. Proceeds benefit the General Fund.

Christmas roll orders

HOMER CITY — The ladies of SS. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, Main Street and Columbia Avenue, are taking orders for nut, apricot and poppy seed Christmas rolls.

Rolls are $12 each. The last day to order is Nov. 30 The ladies will contact those who order when the rolls are ready.

Holupki and pierogi sale

HOMER CITY — SS. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, Main and Columbia streets, will hold a holupki and pierogi sale from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 16.

Holupki are $12 for six and $20 for 10; frozen and fresh will be available.

Pierogies are $9 a dozen frozen.

They can be purchased at the church.

Thanksgiving Concert of Praise

J.D. Varner, CEO of the Christian Witness Media Ministries, has announced the formation of the 26th annual Community Thanksgiving Concert of Praise.

This year’s concert, scheduled for the evening of Sunday, Nov. 24, will be in the beautiful facilities of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church. Father Tom Federline has extended his cordial invitation to all of the community to attend.

Participants will include the Sweet Adelines, the Pearce Sisters, The Masters Jazz Ensemble, a children’s chorus from the St. Bernard Elementary School; the gospel quartet known as Heritage; soloist Debra Moore; The Karcher Instrumental Group; and soloists Jeffrey Duchevney and Anthony Frazier, with Nicholas Capone on the organ. Pianist Larry Peterson will be featured. Also, a community choir under the direction of Karen Marshall will be participating.

There will be a live broadcast on WDAD-AM and on WMUG-FM starting at 6:15 p.m. for those who are unable to attend this concert.

In addition to Father Tom Federline, other pastors participating will include Pastor Tom Spiker of Curry Run Church and Pastor Bill Blair of Grace United Methodist Church. Prelude music by the Master’s Jazz Ensemble will begin at 6 p.m.

Breakfast with Santa

PENN RUN — Penn Run Christian Outreach Center and Cherryhill Township Fire Department are co-hosting Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Penn Run Outreach Center beginning with registration at 8 a.m.

Breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. with Santa’s arrival, crafts and games to follow.

Cost is $10 for adults, $6 for children age 3 to 10 and free for children 2 and younger.
