Evergreen Garden Club
The March 18 meeting of the Evergreen Garden Club was held with the “Marvelous Mints” program presented by club member Carla Eichman.
She told the history of some of the common mints used for teas or seasonings, even cleaning products and air fresheners. It was a very informative program and the refreshments also used the mint theme.
Thoughts and prayers went out to the family of Connie Rising, who was a longtime member of our club.
A change for Monday’s meeting was announced. There will not be a regular club meeting, but a carpool trip to Phipps Conservatory is scheduled. The group will leave at 9:30 a.m. from the Trinity United Methodist Church parking lot. For lunch, bring your brown bag or have lunch at the Caf￩ in Phipps.
The selected committee for the “Pink Garden” at the Women’s Imaging Center at Indiana Regional Medical Center will meet at the site on Tuesday to discuss the plans for the garden.
Club members interested in going to the Welcome to Indiana luncheon at Rustic Lodge, White Township, on April 18 should call Jean Williams for reservations. The club will be doing the table arrangements and will meet at 10 a.m.
The May 20 meeting will be the annual spring cleanup and planting for the Silas Clark House. Jean Williams, JoAnne McQuilkin, Marjory Lynn and all members who aren’t able to work in the garden will prepare the lunch, while the others are trimming and planting the gardens and urns. There will be a business meeting after lunch.
The public is invited to join the meeting, which meets every third Monday of the month. If you have any questions, contact Marcy Cunkelman, publicity chairwoman at (724) 459-7229.
