Indoor yard sale

PENN RUN — An indoor yard sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 1 at the Penn Run Christian Outreach Center, 75 Grace Church Road, Penn Run.

Among the things for sale are clothing, toys, household items, baked goods and more. Lunch will be served and representatives from Avon and other companies will be in attendance.

Yard sale

CHERRY TREE — The Lighthouse, Morning Star Ministries, will hold a gigantic yard sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 1 at the church, located at 4886 Route 240, between Uniontown and Cookport.

The yard sale will have many great items, including clothing, electronics, Christmas decorations, household items and more.

A bake sale and car wash will also be held.

The concession stand will be open and selling hot dogs, hamburgers, soup and more.

There is also a large playground on site for the children to enjoy. All proceeds go to the Mexico missions.

The church is sending a team of 10 in October to a boys’ ranch in Monterrey, Mexico, to help with the construction of a medical center. The team will also minister to the poor and needy on the streets with food and medical supplies.

All monetary donations are tax deductible. Checks should be payable to Morning Star Ministries Missions.

Jacobs Brothers to perform

The Jacobs Brothers, of Dillsburg, will appear at the Independent Traditional Holiness Church at 10:40 a.m. June 1.

The Jacobs Brothers, Bob and Mike, formed the group in 1962. They are veterans of gospel music and are dedicated to the ministry of spreading the gospel through music. The third member, Mike Lawver, joined the group in 1972.

Revival services

PURCHASE LINE — services will be held from June 2-4 with chalk evangelist the Rev. Jim Ellsmore at the Montgomery Church of the Brethren, 5227 Purchase Line Road.

A morning worship service will be held at 10:45 a.m. June 2, with 7:30 p.m. revival services held June 2-4.

The Rev. Ellsmore was born in Glen Campbell and came to know Christ at the age of 26 in his grandfather’s church. He worked as a missionary pastor in Alaska from 1968-79 and has also ministered in Maine, New York and Pennsylvania. Special music is planned for each evening and everyone is invited to attend.

Testifying meeting

BROCKWAY — There will be a Just For Jesus Challenge Homeless Outreach testifying meeting at 6:30 p.m. June 3 at the First Apostles’ Doctrine Church, 14530 Route 28, Brockway.

Come and share how Jesus has changed your life and hear how he is changing others through the power of the work of the cross.

Friday Night Light

PENN RUN — Friday Night Light will be held at 7 p.m. June 7 at the Penn Run Christian Outreach Center, 75 Grace Center Road, Penn Run.

The event will be held outdoors under the pavilion, weather permitting, with a campfire. Bring lawn chairs and campfire snacks. There will be games and activities. The event is sponsored by Harmony Presbyterian Church, Maple Grove Church of God, Penn Run Wesleyan, Kenwood Church of the Nazarene and Penn Run Church of the Brethren. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Royal Fun Faire

CLYMER — Calvary Baptist Church will hold a free Royal Fun Faire and cookout from 6 to 8 p.m. June 8 at the church, Route 286, two miles east of Clymer.

The cookout includes hotdogs, popcorn, snow cones and more. There will be games, crafts, face painting, balloons and a bouncy inflatable castle and slide.

Those ages 4 through those entering grade 6 in the fall and their families are invited. Register for the upcoming Bible school to be held June 17 to 21 and enter drawing for a special prize.

Party planned

JOHNSTOWN — Resurrection Parish, 408 8th St., Johnstown, is holding its first Groovin’ in the Grove summer party featuring Tom Watt, the Buffetman, from 7 to 10 p.m. June 8 at the Resurrection Picnic Grove, 926 Cooper Ave., Tanneryville. Summer festival

JOHNSTOWN — Resurrection Parish, 408 8th St., Johnstown, is holding its fourth annual Parish Summer Festival starting at 10:30 a.m. June 9 at the Resurrection Picnic Grove, 926 Cooper Ave., Tanneryville. The festival starts with 10:30 a.m. outdoor Mass and includes throughout the day: The Conniptions from 1 to 4 p.m., and the Flood City Brass from 5 to 9 p.m.

Ethnic foods to be available include lamb, pierogies, haluski, pigs, hot sausage, kielbasa, pulled pork, hamburgers, hot dogs, funnel cakes, baked goods, a bar and more. There will also be games of chance and bingo. Parking is free. Call (814) 539-5788 for more information.

Movie night

NuMINE — New Hope Assembly of God in NuMine will be hosting a pre-Father’s Day community movie night beginning at 6 p.m. June 14. The movie being shown is “Last Ounce of Courage,” a family-oriented and award-winning film.

There is no admission charge and there will be drawings for prizes. Refreshments will be available. The community is invited. The night is sponsored by HonorBound, Men of Promise.
