REUNION: A get-together for anyone who ever went to the Willard Home School is planned for noon Oct. 26 at Ponderosa Steak House, White Township. Everyone pays for their own meal and spouses are invited.
PRESENTATION: The New Florence Community Library along with the New Florence Women’s Club will be hosting an interactive PowerPoint presentation about the Pennsylvania Main Line Canal by Doug Bosley from the National Park Service at 7 p.m. Oct. 17 in the community room of the Trinity Presbyterian Church, Fifth Street, New Florence.
Learn about the history of the area and see a mock-up of a canal boat cabin where people can participate from inside the “boat.”
After the presentation, the library will celebrate its 50th anniversary of service to the community. Light refreshments will be served. The event is free and everyone is welcome to attend.
RUMMAGE SALE: Mount Zion United Methodist Church, near Girty on Route 2027, will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 11 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 12. All profits go to sending children and adults to church camp.
SOUP SALE: The Diamondville United Methodist Ladies Goodwill Circle will hold its annual soup and bake sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 19 at the church.
Soup, on sale by the quart and pint, will be vegetable and ham and bean.
All kinds of delicious baked goods and homemade pierogies by the dozen will be available. Also, there will be different soups and sandwiches and beverages. There will also be a second time around table. Come and dine with us.
DANCE: The Dynamic singles will hold a dance from 9 p.m. to midnight Friday at the Indiana VFW. The band White Shadow will perform. PINK OUT: In coming weeks, the Indiana community will have the opportunity to participate in the annual “Pink Out” events in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. The Indiana Area Senior High School Pink Out football game will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 18. Be sure to check for other activities in town to support the cause. All proceeds go to support breast cancer awareness.
VENDOR SHOW: Mothers of Preschoolers of Indiana is hosting a vendor show event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 30 at The Summit Church, 2707 West Pike, White Township. Tables and electric hook-up are available. MOPS welcomes home parties, craft vendors and business owners.
