Easter week services set
The following Easter week services are planned:
• Crete Presbyterian Church, 25 Brady Road, Indiana, will hold a community Maundy Thursday service at 7:30 p.m. today. Special music will be provided by the Bethel Presbyterian choir, the Crete Presbyterian choir and Jacksonville Presbyterian Church. Randy Stear will tell the story from Luke 22, with Communion. The Rev. Katie Ward Stear and Pastor Terry Semsick will lead worship. A soup supper begins at 6 p.m. All are welcome.
• Grace United Methodist Church, Seventh and Church streets, Indiana, will hold a Maundy Thursday service with Holy Communion at 7 p.m. today in the sanctuary. The sermon is titled “Help Me! I Don’t Know What Day It Is! — The Meaning of Maundy Thursday.”
A Good Friday service will begin at 7 p.m. Friday in the sanctuary; the sermon will be “Help Me! I Can’t Watch! — The Brutality of the Crucifixion.”
A contemporary service will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday in the church’s fellowship hall.
Four services on Easter Sunday include a sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. at Blue Spruce Park; an 8:30 a.m. contemporary service in the church sanctuary; a 9:45 a.m. contemporary service at the Indiana County YMCA; and an 11 a.m. traditional service in the church sanctuary. The sermon will be “Help Me! It Wasn’t on My Map — The Empty Tomb,” the final message in the 10-part Lenten series, “Help Me! I Can’t Do It Alone.”
