The Artists Hand Gallery, 732 Philadelphia St., Indiana, presents paintings by Julieann Knox and James Yanity and drawings by Dayas Silvis.

The Horace Mann Elementary Gallery, 205 S. Fifth St., Indiana, will present "Picture Mixture," a show that revolves around a difficult project recently completed by third grade students. Each student wrote a description of a famous work of art. The descriptions were then redistributed to someone else in the class who then had to re-create the work of art using only the written description. The show is on display through Wednesday. The Indiana Art Association presents:

  • A display of members' works at Indiana Ambulatory Surgical Center, 841 Hospital Road, White Township.
  • "Life is a Puzzle," a series of mosaics by international artist Jerry McClure on display weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Calvary Presbyterian Church Chalice Room, 695 Church St. Visitors are asked to use the School Street entrance and check in at the downstairs office.

The Indiana County Historical Museum, 621 Wayne Ave., Indiana, presents the following programs:

  • Early cleaning methods, an exhibit focused on antique sweepers, vacuum cleaners and their predecessor, the rug beater.
  • "Celebrating 100 years of Girl Scouting," an exhibit of uniforms, badges and other Girl Scout memorabilia.
  • 150th anniversary of the Civil War display, a look at the soldiers and civilians affected by the War Between the States.
  • "The One Room School House in Indiana County," photographs and artifacts documenting the county's early schools.
  • Continuous exhibits detailing the history of Indiana County, including the county's history of coal mining, Native Americans and military personnel.

Indiana Free Library, downtown Indiana, is holding a Brown Bag Concert series at noon on Mondays during March. Community members are invited to bring a lunch and enjoy the talents of local musicians. The Jimmy Stewart Museum will present the following matinees at 1 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays in the third-floor theater:

  • March 16-17 -- "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance," starring Jimmy Stewart, Vera Miles and John Wayne.

  • March 30-31 -- "How The West Was Won," starring Jimmy Stewart, Debbie Reynolds, George Peppard and an all-star cast.
