Library sets amnesty program

on October 31, 2013 10:45 AM

The Westmoreland County libraries are offering an overdue book amnesty program from Sunday though Nov. 9.

Residents can return an overdue or “long lost” library book, movie or CD to any county library, along with a jar of peanut butter or jelly, and not incur any fines, no questions asked. The only requirement is that the book and the donation must be turned in at the library’s circulation desk.

The jars of peanut butter and jelly collected in lieu of fines will be donated to the Westmoreland County Food Bank for distribution.

For more information on the amnesty program, contact the Westmoreland Library Network during business hours at (724) 420-5638.
