A portion of Route 422 between Wray Plan Road and Rupp Church Road in Armstrong County is scheduled to be realigned, according to officials with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

This safety improvement project realigns more than one mile of Route 422. A center turn lane will be constructed east of Lasher Road and end near Rupp Church Road. Theater Road, Graham Road and Rupp Church Road intersections will be realigned and a left turn lane will be constructed.

Normal traffic will be maintained during the construction of this project.

A collaborative effort between Armstrong and Indiana counties, local, state and federal elected officials and the state Department of Transportation resulted in the improvement of the corridor.

Work on this $9.15 million project will be done by A. Liberoni, of Plum, and is expected to be completed in late fall 2014.
