Yard sale

SMICKSBURG — Smicksburg United Methodist Church will hold its annual yard sale until 3 p.m. today.

Hoagies and pop will be available.

Worship services

Grove Chapel-Harmony Grove Lutheran Parish has resumed worship services: Harmony Grove, 6584 Five Points Road, Creekside, at 9 a.m. and Grove Chapel, 2539 Grove Chapel Road, Rayne Township, at 11 a.m. Guest minister for Sunday is the Rev. Hosea Nabors.

There will be no children’s time or Sunday school, and social distancing will be observed. Each church will have extra masks and hand sanitizer available at the church entrance.

If you have any symptoms that are associated with COVID-19, please remain at home — if you have any fear of coming together due to the possibility of either giving the virus to someone or catching it from someone, you will not be thought less of for not attending the worship service.

Parents who are interested in having their child/children take first Communion instruction, please contact John Bomboy at (724) 397-5529 as soon as possible in order that instructional materials can be gathered.

BLAIRSVILLE — United Presbyterian Church, 137 N. Walnut St., will hold in-house and online worship with the Rev. Timothy Monroe at 10 a.m. Sunday.

Scriptures will be Ephesians 3:14-21 and John 6:1-14.

Safety guidelines will be followed in-house.

HOMER CITY — Homer City United Methodist Church, 2 S. Main St., will hold adult Sunday school at 8:30 a.m. and worship at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

Basket raffle

CLYMER — Church of the Resurrection, 349 Morris St., will have its annual outdoor basket raffle from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9.

You will need to wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Pickup Picnic

Shelocta Presbyterian Church will offer a special Pickup Picnic from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 19.

Reservations are required by Aug. 14.

The free meal includes a hamburger and hot dog, pasta salad, chips, drink and dessert.

Giveaway rescheduled

CHERRY TREE — Kinport Assembly of God’s annual Back To School Giveaway has been rescheduled to take place between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22.

The giveaway will be a drive-thru distribution for all children in grades K through 12 only.

You must remain in your vehicles. Children must be present to receive items.

Items to be handed out include book bags with school supplies, coats, socks and hygiene items, all while supplies last.

Parking will be set up in the right-hand-side parking lot; please be patient and respect others while you are waiting.

Please arrive no earlier than 8 a.m.
