60TH ANNIVERSARY: Perry H. and Lois Wetzel
Perry H. and Lois Wetzel, formerly of Indiana, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 5. They were married in 1953 at Graystone Presbyterian Church in Indiana.
Perry is the son of the late William and Opal (Spence) Wetzel, of Indiana, and Lois is the daughter of the late Ralph and Mabel (Knupp) Cribbs, of Indiana.
Perry retired from Agway Inc. after 40 years of service, the last 25 of which were as manager of the Agway Feed Mill in Greenville. He is a graduate of Indiana High School (class of 1948) and Penn State University, where he was involved in the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. In addition, he served as jump master in the 12th Company of the Airborne Rangers during the Korean Conflict.
Mrs. Wetzel also retired from Agway Inc. and is a graduate of Indiana High School (class of 1949). She was an active volunteer in the Republican Women and the Pennsylvania Farmers’ Association. She remains active as treasurer of Fredonia United Methodist Church and as a bridge coordinator in various area groups.
The couple enjoys traveling, visiting with grandchildren, playing bridge and staying active in church activities.
They are the parents of five children: William (Kerri Cannon) Wetzel, of Greenville, S.C.; Karen Marquardt, of Milwaukee; Janice (Ronald) Sanders, of Norristown; Brenda (Michael) Morris, of Chardon, Ohio; and Lori (Daniel) Morris, of Pittsburgh. They have 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
They celebrated with children and grandchildren during a beach vacation in Virginia Beach, Va., in June.
