MARK SCRIBE II
Army Reserve Pvt. Mark Scribe II has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, Scribe studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, and physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
He is the son of Joy Scribe, of Bolivar.
Justin D. Coleman has been promoted to the rank of senior airman in the U.S. Air Force.
Coleman is a long-range scheduler assigned to the 55th Wing at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. The senior airman has served in the military for two years.
He is the son of Brian and stepson of Christina Coleman of Fleming Road, and the grandson of Dean and Sandy Coleman, of North 11th Street, all of Indiana.
Coleman graduated in 2010 from Marion Center Area Senior High School.
