Community Action Inc. recently named Alice Sprankle, of Covode, as the Indiana County Senior Corps-RSVP Volunteer of the Month for September.
Sprankle has been a member of the Senior Corps-RSVP since November 2000 volunteering for Aging Services Inc.’s Mahoning Hills Senior Social Center, helping with serving meals, special activities and fundraisers.
When asked why she volunteers, she said, “Volunteering makes you feel needed.
I really enjoy helping those who cannot serve themselves and volunteering at the center.”
When Sprankle is not volunteering she enjoys gardening, cooking and spending time with her family. She attends the Covode United Methodist Church.
Officials from the Community Action Inc.’s Senior Corps-RSVP said Sprankle depicts the true spirit of volunteering and is dedicated to making a difference in people’s lives.
If you are 55 or older and interested in utilizing your skills and talents to improve our community and change people’s lives, consider becoming a member of Community Action Inc.’s Senior Corps-RSVP.
