The Blairsville Monday Music Club recently held its monthly meeting and was entertained by the February Student of the Month, Seth Swasy.

Seth entertained the club members with two vocal selections. The first selection was “Some Enchanted Evening” composed by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, and “Bring Him Home” by Claude-Michel Schonberg.

He has an extensive musical background, beginning in fourth grade at St. Bernard’s School. Since eighth grade, he has participated in county, district and regional chorus. He has been in numerous musicals at Blairsville High School including: “Music Man Jr.,” “Grease,” “Kiss Me Kate,” “Cinderella,” “Fiddler on the Roof” and “Guys and Dolls.” He will perform as Stewpot in this year’s production of “South Pacific.” He has also been in two dinner theater performances — as Drew in “Murder Me Always” and Inspector Badham in “Remains to be Seen.”

Seth is a member of FBLA, and is currently the senior class treasurer.

Outside of school Seth has been active as an altar server at St. Bernard’s Church. He has participated in Outdoor Odyssey as a junior counselor and mentor, Earth Day cleanup and Remembering Adam.

Seth is a senior at Blairsville High School. He plans to attend Penn State Behrend in Erie and major in interdisciplinary business with engineering. He is the son of Roger and Barbara Swasy.
