The Alice Paul House recently selected Sandy Toy as the Volunteer of the Month for August.

Sandy decided to volunteer at the Alice Paul House because she wanted a way to give back to the community and was inspired by the work of the Alice Paul House.

She finds meaning and purpose in her work, and values being part of a greater good.

Sandy enjoys interacting with the staff, interns and other volunteers, as well as helping victims in crisis over the hotline and in the shelter.

When asked if there was anything else she wanted others to know, she explained that there is a reason for the Alice Paul House in Indiana.

Sandy believes that the overall good that comes from a smile and an encouraging voice from staff and volunteers is heartening to people in crisis.

She uses her volunteer service as a way to “act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly” (Micah 6:8).

Sandy’s exemplary volunteer work and commitment to helping others has been recognized by all at the Alice Paul House.
