WEDDING: Laura Merle and Tyler Hughes

Laura Renee Merle, of Seward, and Tyler David Hughes, of New Florence, were united in marriage on June 28, 2014, at Belmont United Methodist Church, Johnstown. The Rev. Keith Dunn officiated.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents, Ronald and Patricia Merle, of Seward.

The groom is the son of Kenneth and Tami Hughes, of New Florence.

Laura is a 2008 graduate of United High School and a 2012 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She earned a graduate degree from IUP in 2014.

Tyler is a 2007 graduate of Laurel Valley High School and a 2011 graduate of IUP.

The bride wore an Allure ballgown featuring a sweetheart neckline with beading and embellishments throughout the bodice and skirt.

The maid of honor was Leah Fuller, of Germantown, Md. Bridesmaids were Christina Bitens, West Mifflin; Morgan Meyer, Kersey; Erica Meyer, Kersey; Ashley Saylor, sister of the groom, Williamsburg; and Tara Young, Belhaven, N.C.

The best man was Christopher Jones, of Hampton, Va. Groomsmen were William Cox, Brockway; Ryan Merle, brother of the bride, Seward; Jordan Pardee, New Florence; Lee Saylor, brother-in-law of the groom, Williamsburg; and Ahmed Affaneh, Pittsburgh.

Thomas Saylor, nephew of the groom, of Williamsburg, was the ring bearer.

Ceremony music was provided by Sherry Shurin, organist; Kelly Mansfield, soloist; and Brittany Dudt, guitarist.

Molly Mack and Katie Zebrak participated in reading passages during the ceremony.

Aidan and Tyler Burnworth, cousins of the bride, were program attendants for the ceremony.

The reception was held at The Barn at Ligonier Valley in Ligonier.

Reception music was provided by DJ Tony Pecora.

The couple honeymooned at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla.

The couple now resides in Johnstown.
