WEDDING: Lauren Williams and Gary Klinefelter
Lauren Marie Williams and Gary Robert Klinefelter were united in marriage at a beach sunset ceremony Jan. 14, 2012, at Bavaro Princess All Suites Resort, Spa and Casino at Bavaro Beach, Dominican Republic. Judge Francelia Perez Suriel performed the ceremony.
Lauren is the daughter of Dana and Kathryn Henry, of Homer City, and the late Harry L. Williams, and Gary is the son of Edward and Ellen Klinefelter, of Pittsburgh.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore an ivory dress with rhinestones, crystal beading and a chapel train by Alfred Angelo. Her headpiece consisted of two fresh white Caribbean orchids and she carried a bouquet of assorted colorful Caribbean flowers.
Shannon Stefan, of Verona, served as the maid of honor. The matron of honor was Heather Brunetta-Redinger, of Indiana. Bridesmaids were Jaclyn Martz, of Verona; Meghan Salome, of Washington, D.C.; and Andrea Rupert, of Vandergrift. The flower girl was Madison Klinefelter, niece of the groom, of Pittsburgh.
Jeffery Klinefelter, brother of the groom, of Pittsburgh, and Robert Pudis, of Pittsburgh, served as the best men. Groomsmen were Cobin Sunderman, of Pittsburgh, and Matt Rzotkiewicz, of Pittsburgh.
A 42-person beach party reception followed the sunset ceremony at the Bavaro Princess All Suites Resort, Spa and Casino.
Lauren graduated in 2000 from Homer-Center Junior Senior High School. She attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and graduated in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in hotel, restaurant and institutional management. Lauren recently earned her master's degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix, Pittsburgh campus, in 2011. She is the assistant general manager at the Carambola Golf Club, St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands.
Chef Klinefelter is a graduate of the American Culinary Federation Educational Institute Chefs Apprenticeship Program and has done continuing education studies at The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y.; The Greenbrier, in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va.; and The Ritz Carlton, Grand Cayman Island, under the direction of celebrity chefs Anthony Bourdain, Eric Ripert, Ingrid Hoffman and Laurent Tourondel. Gary is the recipient of numerous awards and medals, including a silver medal in the American Culinary Federation sanctioned Culinary Salon as well as several gold and silver medals for his entries in the ACF Pittsburgh "Anything Goes" competitions. He is the executive chef at Carambola Golf Club, St. Croix, and also the executive chef and owner of Solstice Restaurant and Lounge in Greensburg.
They reside in Christiansted on St. Croix.
