A Positive Sign

Reflecting Blairsville Borough’s struggles with heroin use, it’s been common for Blairsville police officers to find used syringes tossed on the ground.

One, in fact, was once found placed on one of the department’s police cruisers.

However, Chief Michael Allman reported at a council meeting Tuesday that officers haven’t come across a syringe since early August.

He said he’s not sure what that can be attributed to. But, he said, he’d like to think it’s due to an increased visibility of officers.
