Ballroom dance club seeks beginners
The Indiana Ballroom Dance Club is offering dance classes for beginners and intermediate workshops for experienced dancers in an effort to promote ballroom dancing and to attract members to the club.
The cost is $100 a couple for a series of four beginners classes that will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. on Sept. 13, 20, 27 and Oct. 4 at Sharon’s School of Dance, 496 Ben Franklin Road, White Township, across from Giant Eagle. Instruction will be provided on the fox trot, swing, waltz and rumba.
The cost for the intermediate workshops that will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on the same dates at Sharon’s School of Dance is $35 a couple for each workshop and will give dancers an opportunity to improve their skills in the rumba, cha cha, merengue and American tango.
Trevor Runco, of Punxsutawney, a professional dance instructor, will provide the lessons. Runco has taught jazz, ballet, tap and ballroom dancing in Pennsylvania and Ohio.
Enrollment in the classes and workshops is limited. Couples are preferred. To register, send a check written to the Indiana Ballroom Dance Club to P.O. Box 233, Indiana, PA 15701. For more information, call (724) 465-8502 or link to IndDanceClub.wordpress.com.
