Twolick Valley Rod and Gun Club’s annual Bluegrass Festival will begin at noon on Friday at the Rod and Gun Club, 487 Dogwood Road, Cherry Tree.

The event will run through Saturday.

“Our bluegrass festival consists of regular individuals that just like to get together and play music,” said Jeanene Stewart, Rod and Gun Club secretary.

“Bluegrass” is defined as a kind of country music characterized by banjos, guitars, and high-pitched vocals and, according to the Indiana County Tourist Bureau calendar, multiple bands of this genre will perform.

Stewart said that the club has hosted the festival in May and August for years, and it is usually well-attended, depending on the weather. Previously, she said, the event has brought in several hundred people.

The event is open to the public and participants are welcome to camp. Stewart said that when attendees pull in, they can register for a camping spot.
