Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Kappa Sigma fraternity (Kappa Theta chapter) held its third annual chili cook-off Saturday in the Hadley Union Building’s Ohio Room to benefit a program that serves American military families.

The judges were, from left, Indiana Borough Mayor George Hood; Sam Clutter, IUP director of safety; Leonard Bench, the fraternity’s alumnus adviser; and not pictured, Gary Williams, marketing professor at IUP; and Brian Butz, cadet first sergeant, Army ROTC.

Last year, the event raised more than $700, and this year the goal was to raise $1,000 for the Fisher House program, which offers housing to families with military members hospitalized at major military or veterans’ affairs facilities. For more information on the Fisher House program, go to
