Church reports successful project
The First Baptist Church of Glen Campbell, which has been the lead church and organization behind the Christmas Love Basket project in Glen Campbell, is pleased to report a successful year again for the project due to the help of many.
This year, Love Baskets containing a substantial amount of food were delivered by church members to 24 households, helping a total of 56 individuals. The community is indebted to the Indiana Love Basket Foundation for its help again this year.
Each individual and household should be able to cook a full Christmas dinner as well as other meals from the supplies given.
In addition to food, the church asked the other two churches in Glen Campbell, The Glen Campbell American Legion, the borough council and individuals to donate to buy food gift certificates.
Households with more than two people received a larger store certificate than families of two or fewer, according to organizers.
The offering from the community thanksgiving service was given to the Love Basket Project.
The members and attenders of First Baptist were generous and gave slightly more than their $600 church goal.
In all, nearly $1,000 in food gift certificates were made available for helping 56 individuals.
One of the church’s strong beliefs is that Christ asked his people to take care of the needy.
