Churches announce Vacation Bible schools

The following area churches have scheduled Vacation Bible School:

• Armagh United Methodist Church, 570 W. Philadelphia St., Armagh. “Veggie Tale Adventures,” Monday through Friday, 6 to 8 p.m. Registration 5 p.m. Monday. Age 3 through grade 7. Light supper each night. Call (814) 446-5551.

• Blairsville Alliance Church, 135 E. Burrell St., Blairsville. “International Spy Academy,” Monday through Friday, 6 to 8:30 p.m. Age 4 through grade 6 (completed). Call (724) 459-7770 to register.

• Calvary Bible Church. July 21 to 25, 6 to 8:30 p.m., at the parsonage in Hillsdale. Children ages 4 to 13 are invited to explore God’s Wonderful Word, the Bible, in Vacation Bible School. Registering ahead of time is encouraged. To register, call (814) 743-5448.

• Chapel of Hope, Palmerton Road, Black Lick. Monday through Sunday, 5:30 to 8 p.m. Dinner served nightly at 5:30 p.m. Closing program at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Come learn about Moses and the Israelites’ journey. Ages 3 and older.

• Dayton United Methodist Church. “Wilderness Escape,” Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to noon. Registration is being accepted for those age 3 to grade 6. Call (814) 257-8951 or check out

• First Lutheran Church, Rural Valley. Community Vacation Bible School with Rural Valley United Methodist Church and NuValley Presbyterian Church. “Christmas in July,” July 14 to 16, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at NuValley Presbyterian Church. • Marion Center Community Vacation Bible School, Sunday through Thursday, 6:15 to 8:30 p.m., at the Marion Center First United Methodist Church.

• Victory Baptist Church, 139 E. Wiley St., Homer City. “Bug Zone: Transformed by Our Big God,” July 7-11, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Bible stories, songs, crafts, horse rides, snacks and a fun fest. Transportation is available for those needing a ride. Call (724) 479-3494.

• Zion Lutheran Church, Indiana. “Gangway to Galilee,” Monday through Friday, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Age 4 through completion of grade 5. Kid-friendly meals will be served and children can enjoy Bible stories, skits, songs, games, science and crafts.
