The Indiana Photo Club held its annual banquet on May 22. The group retained its current officers for the 2013-14 club year.
During May of each club year, the club organizes its Image of the Year competition. For this event, the photographs that have won local prizes during the monthly meetings are placed into competition against each other. Two images are selected as the top images of the year.
Joy Fairbanks, a local artist and photographer, served as the judge for this year’s competition. From a field of 24 prize-winning entries, Fairbanks chose Jim Reber’s photograph “Malta” as the Image of the Year. Buddy Murphy’s “Sunrise” was selected as the runner-up image.
Also at the final meeting, the Photographer of the Year awards are presented. The individuals whose photographs have accumulated the most points during the club year are recognized with these awards. For the 2012-13 club year, Jim Reber was recognized as the Photographer of the Year. Reber’s images accumulated 221 total points during the monthly competitions. Tom Betts, whose photos earned 210 points, was the runner-up.
Meetings for the 2013-14 year will resume in September.
