Coming events to be held
MEETING: The Happy Homemakers will meet at noon on Thursday at the Trinity United Methodist Church for lunch and planning for the next year. This meeting will be Patriotic Day.
RUN/WALK: The Crooked Creek Environmental Learning Center will be hosting its fifth annual Fall Foliage 5K Run/Walk on Sept. 13 at Crooked Creek Lake Park. The race will begin and end at Tunnelville Beach.

Registration fees are $20 before Friday and $25 after.
Race-day registration and check-in begins at 8 a.m. The race will begin promptly at 9 a.m.
Timing services will be provided by Gingerbread Man Running Co.
The race helps to sustain the only facility in Armstrong County that promotes environmental education and responsible resource conservation.
The Crooked Creek Environmental Learning Center is a multi-use facility operated under the auspices of the Armstrong Educational Trust and is available year-round to organized groups and businesses for environmental education, workshops, meetings or retreats. REUNION: The annual Hills Department Store reunion and picnic will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 7 at Getty Heights Park Pavilion, next to Rustic Lodge, Indiana. Guests are reminded to bring a covered dish, a wrapped gift for the auction and memories. There will be a 50/50 raffle, money tree giveaway and door prize giveaways. REUNION: The Laura Lamar High School 50th class reunion will be held at the Indiana Country Club on Sept. 20.
The deadline to RSVP has been extended to Sept. 5. All members of the class of 1964 are encouraged to attend.
