Comments sought for Emergency Solutions Grant

Indiana County residents and agencies are invited to provide comment and input for an Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) that will be submitted by Indiana County to the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.

The ESG program consolidates three separate homeless assistance programs through the Homeless Emergency Assistance and Rapid Transition to Housing Act of 2009 administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. The ESG funds are designed to assist people to quickly regain stability in permanent housing after experiencing a housing crisis and/or homelessness.

Indiana County is preparing an application for the emergency shelter and housing relocation and stabilization service activities.

Public comments will be accepted at 2 p.m. June 5 at the Indiana County Office of Planning and Development, 801 Water St., Indiana. Written comments can be mailed to LuAnn Zak, deputy director of community development and housing, at the Indiana County Office of Planning and Development, 801 Water St., Indiana, PA 15701.

Comments and input will be accepted until 4 p.m. on June 10.
