Homemade sauerkraut, nut rolls

Southern gospel music

Everyone is invited to an evening of Southern gospel music family style at 6 p.m. Sunday at Independent Traditional Holiness Church, 5065 Ferguson Road, Indiana. Two family groups will be featured: CrossOver, a well-known local group, and The Nelons, who come from a great background of gospel music, including the Lefeveres, Rex Nelon, Kelly, Jason and Amber.

New Year’s Eve service

A New Year’s Eve service will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church, Seventh and Church streets, Indiana. There will be silent Communion, meditation and reflection.

Pennsylvania Dutch buffet

A Pennsylvania Dutch buffet will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Jan. 4 at the Penn Run Christian Outreach Center, 75 Grace Church Road, Penn Run.

The buffet is $8 for adults and $6 for children ages 3 to 11.

There will be chicken gravy with chunks of chicken, waffles, biscuits, noodles, mashed potatoes, vegetables, two prepared salads, desserts and a drink. For more information, call (724) 463-0420.

Turkey dinner

ROBINSON — The Helping Hands of the Robinson Evangelical United Methodist Church will hold a turkey dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 5 in the church fellowship hall, 332 Mary St., Robinson.

The cost is $8 for adults, $3 for children ages 5 to 12 and free for ages 4 and under. Takeouts are available.

Happy ReNew Year event

Grace United Methodist Church will have its annual Happy ReNew Year event at 12:30 p.m. Jan. 12 in the church sanctuary.

All couples present will collectively renew their vows in front of friends, family, co-workers and children. A cake and punch reception will follow in Fellowship Hall. Child care is available at no cost.

Register in the Welcome Center or email Kevin and Heather Porter at with the couple’s name, how many family members will attend and children’s names and ages (only if utilizing child care services). The deadline is Jan. 5. If you would like to submit a wedding picture via email to display during the service, email it. Pastor Dave Henderson will discuss the importance of the marriage covenant at all three of the services.
