Community church events announced
SPRING CHURCH — A chicken and biscuit dinner will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. today at Spring Church Lutheran Church, Spring Church.
The menu includes chicken, biscuits, mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, dessert and beverage. Donations are $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for ages 5 and younger. DERRY — The annual spring bazaar will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today in the social hall at Derry First United Methodist Church, 311 N. Ligonier St. Lunch will be available along with baked goods, soup, crafts, a flea market and a clothing sale.
Easter egg sale
Indiana Church of the Brethren, 905 McKnight Road, White Township, will sell homemade Easter eggs today at Indiana Mall. The half-pound eggs are available in peanut butter or coconut flavor and can be purchased near the K-mart for $5 or by calling (724) 254-3003.
PENN RUN — A pasta buffet will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Penn Run Christian Outreach Center, 75 Grace Church Road, Penn Run.
The cost is $8 for adults and $6 for ages 3 to 11. The menu includes spaghetti, penne, meatballs in sauce, sausage sauce, Alfredo sauce, lasagna, California blend vegetables, salad, bread and desserts.

MARION CENTER — The Ambrose Baptist Church, 22 Georgeville Road, Marion Center, is holding a 4 p.m. worship service on Sunday, instead of its traditional 9:30 a.m. service, and a light supper will follow in the church’s fellowship hall. The worship band the Third Degree, from Punxsutawney, will also perform.
BLACK LICK — The Indiana-Cambria County Gospel Songfest will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Black Lick Presbyterian Church. Everyone is welcome to attend.
DIXONVILLE — The Dixonville Wesleyan Church, 246 Purchase Line Road, Dixonville, will hold revival services with the Rev. Ed Jellif at 10:45 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.
Ed received the gift of salvation in July 1996 at the age of 31. In 1997, he and his family moved to Lancaster so he could attend Lancaster Bible College. He graduated in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in Bible and a minor in youth ministry.
Ed and Cheryl, his wife of more than 30 years, have two daughters, Bethany and Tracy, a son-in-law, Mike, and a granddaughter, Brynlee.
Ed now serves as a church planter with the Christian and Missionary Alliance and is planting the New Life Alliance Church in East Freedom. New Life has created a nonprofit organization, Through Inc., which serves the community with a free medical clinic, a food pantry and other ministries. The Wesleyan Methodist Church, on the corner of Church and 12th streets, Indiana, will hold revival services with the Rev. Matt Ellison Tuesday to April 13 at the church. Weekday services will be at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
Lenten soup luncheons
Soup luncheons open to the entire community will be held from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays during Lent at Zion Lutheran Church, Sixth and Church streets, Indiana.
Every Tuesday, three different soups, including a vegetarian selection, will be offered with bread and dessert. Takeout is available. Diners will be asked to make free-will offerings to benefit the church’s community food pantry.
This Tuesday’s menu is golden potato cauliflower, Asian beef and noodle, and chicken and squash.
Lenten luncheon series
CLYMER — The Clymer Ministerial Lenten Luncheon Series will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Tanoma United Methodist Church, 3712 Tanoma Road. The Rev. Meg Marley will preside.

St. Bernard Regional Catholic School will hold its annual Lenten fish fries from 4 to 7 p.m. Fridays through April 11 in the church’s social hall, 200 Clairvaux Drive, White Township.
In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the event, every 50th person eating in will receive their meal for only 20 cents.
Easter roll sale

SAGAMORE — The Community Bible Church of Sagamore, on Route 210, will hold a basement sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 11 and 12. There will be something for everyone and food will be available.
Spring yard sale
STARFORD — The Pine Flats Church of God will hold a spring yard sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 12 at the Morning Star Fellowship Hall, Route 286, Starford.
A wide variety of new and used items will be available including all sizes of clothing, from infants to adult plus sizes. There will also be a bake sale featuring pies, cakes, cookies, breads, rolls, candy and nut rolls. Soups will also be available by the quart.
The Children’s Ministry at Graystone Presbyterian Church, 640 Church St., will host its annual Spring Fest from 10 to 11:30 a.m. April 12. This free event is for children age 2 through sixth-grade. Proceeds benefit the Crosstown Ministry Food Bank at Woodland Avenue United Methodist Church, Punxsutawney, and Mt. Zion’s building fund. Tickets can be purchased in advance from a member or at the door.
Spring craft show
The Crafty Christians Spring Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 12 at the Purchase Line United Methodist Church.
Vendors will be selling handmade items, baked goods, plants and homemade candy by the PLUM youth group. Lunch will be served in the activity social room.
