PUNXSUTAWNEY — A pig roast will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Scotland Avenue Church of God, 1263 Scotland Ave. Extension, Punxsutawney.
Roasted by Roger Dinger, the dinner includes pork, stuffing, coleslaw, haluski, baked beans, corn on the cob, pasta salad, desert and drinks. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children younger than 10. Proceeds benefit the church’s Honduras mission project.

Chicken and holupki dinner
A chicken and holupki dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Christ Our Savior Orthodox Church, corner of Tanoma Road and Route 286 East, Rayne Township.
The cost is $10 for adults, $3 for children ages 5 to 12 and free for ages 4 and younger. A fast takeout line is available. The public is welcome.
KITTANNING — Harvest Community Church will hold “God’s NOT Dead” movie night at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Kittanning Campus, 143 Reed Road. The movie and refreshments are free.
Blaine and Christine Bowman in concert
Blaine and Christine Bowman will be in concert at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Cornerstone Worship Center, 500 Lenz Road, White Township.
Every year since 1975, Blaine and Christine have performed more than 200 concerts and conducted seminars from coast to coast. Their music styles vary from country, blues, western swing, bebop, gospel parodies, rock, bluegrass to jazz/fusion instrumentals. Though most of their music has a Gospel message, they also sing fun songs, comedy songs and love songs.

Service in the park
KITTANNING — All three campuses of Harvest Community Church will join together for a church service in the Park at 10 a.m. Aug. 24 at Kittanning Riverfront Park.
HOMER CITY — A “Backpack Blessing” will be held for all school-age children at 11 a.m. Aug. 24 at Hope Lutheran Church, 35 Ridge Ave., Homer City.

Roast beef dinner
UREY — The annual roast beef dinner will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 24 at SS. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, Urey, near Glen Campbell.
The menu includes roast beef, stuffed cabbage, haluski, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, tossed salad, beverage and dessert. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 10 and free for ages 5 and under.

DAYTON — Sunshine Preschool is now taking registration for fall semester classes. The preschool is held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on the lower level of Dayton United Methodist Church.

Ice Cream for Breakfast
ARMAGH — The third annual Ice Cream for Breakfast with Faith will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 30 at the Armagh Fire Hall.
In exchange for a donation, those attending will receive an ice cream sundae with their favorite toppings. There will also be music, crafts, clowns, balloon animals and face painting at 10 a.m. All proceeds benefit Give Kids the World Village.

ROBINSON — The Robinson Church of the Brethren will hold a Southern gospel music concert with CrossOver at 6 p.m. Sept. 21 at the church, High Street, Robinson.
Home party and craft vendors sought
PENN RUN — The Penn Run Christian Outreach Center will hold a holiday home and craft show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 8 at the center, 75 Grace Church Road, Penn Run.
Home party vendors such as Mary Kay, Tupperware, Pampered Chef, as well as crafters, are needed for the show. Spaces range in cost from $10 to $20.
A silent auction and pie auction will also be held. Homemade soups and baked goods will also be available.

Vendors and crafters needed
CLARKSBURG — The Trinity Presbyterian Church Women’s Association will hold a vendor and craft show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 8 at the church, 18 Clarksburg Road, Clarksburg.
Vendors will be limited to one table per business. Crafters are welcome. Tables will be $15 with additional tables for $10 each. Vendors and crafters are requested to give an item valued between $15 and $25 for the ticket raffle to be conducted. Tables and chairs will be provided for each vendor/crafter. The deadline to apply for space is Oct. 18.
