Community church events planned

CPR class

KITTANNING — Harvest Community Church is offering a CPR training class from 6:30 to 8 p.m. July 17 at the Kittanning Campus, 143 Reed Road, Kittanning. Those attending will receive a free CPR kit. Register at Classes are open to all.

Yard sale

SAXONBURG — A two-day yard sale benefiting Lutherlyn Day Camp will be held rain or shine until 3 p.m. today in Centennial Hall at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 110 State St., Saxonburg.

Vendors can sell their items for $10 a table. Donations also are being accepted (no electronics). For tables, contact Gayle Gundlach at (724) 352-4205 by Wednesday. Setup will take place Thursday.

The Community Day Camp will be held July 13 to 18 at St. Luke’s church.

Women’s fellowship dinner

PENN RUN — The Penn Run Christian Outreach Center, 75 Grace Center Road, Penn Run, will hold a women’s fellowship dinner at 5 p.m. today.

Tickets are $10 each and are available at the Penn Run Christian Outreach Center. Entrée choices are baked chicken or steak. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Anyone interested must make a reservation by today by calling (724) 349-6973 or (814) 743-5491. Leave a message and a return phone number.

Proceeds will be used for local mission work.

Lasagna dinner

PUNXSUTAWNEY — The Scotland Avenue Church of God, 1263 Scotland Ave. Extension, Punxsutawney, is holding a lasagna dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. today.

The cost is $8 for adults, and $4 for children ages 12 and younger. Proceeds benefit church missions. For more information, call (814) 427-2642.

Chicken and biscuit dinner

BLAIRSVILLE — The Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, on Route 22, 6 miles east of Blairsville, will hold a chicken and biscuit dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. today.

The cost is a donation. Everyone is welcome.

Sunday concerts

ROBINSON — The Robinson Church of the Brethren will hold gospel and contemporary Christian music concerts at 6 p.m. Sundays at the church, High Street, Robinson. The schedule is as follows:

• July 13, Contemporary Christian quartet, OneVoice, and the gospel duet Abraham's Promise

• Sept. 21, Southern gospel music, CrossOver

Back-to-School Blowout

ARMAGH — The second annual Back-to-School Blowout will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 16 at Valley Grace Brethren Church, at Routes 56 and 22, Armagh.

Teachers from the United School District, along with volunteers from the Women of Faith group of Valley Grace Brethren Church, have planned the event as a way to reach out to the children of the community and help them start the school year right.

The three rules for this free event are: children must be present to participate; children must be accompanied by and adult, regardless of age; and the event is not income-based. It is open to all school-age children.

There will also be a bake sale, with proceeds going to help children in need throughout the school year.
