Crime Watch group to meet

BLAIRSVILLE — Members of the Blairsville Crime Watch will meet on Monday following the Memorial Day parade at the Community Center pavilion. A meet-and-greet with the Blairsville Police Department and the new police chief is planned.

Motorcycle run set for June 8

Indiana County A.B.A.T.E. will sponsor a charity motorcycle run June 8 to raise money for Camp Orenda. Motorcycles and all street-legal vehicles are invited to meet at the Clymer American Legion to join the 85-mile scenic group ride to benefit the Lions Club-sponsored Camp Orenda.

Sign-ups will begin at 11 a.m. and the ride will leave promptly at 1 p.m.

Camp Orenda is a residential summer health camp for people with disabilities. The camp offers a fun-filled week that challenges its campers physically, emotionally and socially.

YMCA offers free swim classes

The YMCA of Indiana County and the United Way of Indiana County will offer free begin to swim classes June 10-14 and June 22-26 at the Mack Park pool. The classes are open to children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Registration is required.

The goal of the class is to improve a child’s self-confidence and skills around the water. Proper use of water safety equipment, rules and etiquette around the water, and basic swimming skills will be the focus. A parent or guardian must remain in attendance during the program.
