Covered bridge stands for generations

The Thomas covered bridge, which crosses Crooked Creek near Yarnick’s Farm Market in Armstrong Township, was surrounded by spring greenery Thursday.

It is the longest of the Indiana County covered bridges and was built in 1879 and reconstructed in 1998 for about $1 million, according to Indiana County Parks & Trails. (Tom Peel/Gazette photo)
