The closure of the bridge carrying Route 56/156 over Crooked Creek in Armstrong Township, Indiana County, has been rescheduled for May 12. The bridge was expected to close Monday.

Beginning May 12, the Route 56/156 West Shelocta Truss Bridge will be closed to traffic between the intersections of Route 422 and Sportsman Club Road for a bridge rehabilitation project. The bridge is expected to reopen in September.

A posted detour will be in place using Route 422 to Route 210 to Route 56.

Work on the project includes deck replacement, steel repairs, and painting.

This $721,000 bridge rehabilitation project is being constructed by Clearwater Construction Inc., of Mercer.
