Dixonville Moose hosts back-to-school party
Homer City Police Department Sgt. Anthony Jellison spoke Sunday at the “Back To School” party that was held at the Dixonville Moose. Jellison spoke to the children about drug awareness, alcohol awareness and answered questions that some of the students and parents had. He also informed them of the need of the K-9 unit for the area.
Jellison said the dog will be a big help with drug busts and regular police enforcement. Students in kindergarten through 12th grade from the community were invited to attend the party and each was given a book bag with school supplies along with a pizza party.
Haley Little won a Toshiba laptop and Amber Rushton and Robert Keith each won a Kindle Fire HD to help them with schoolwork. There were 20 other winners who received gift cards.
