Erie agency earns accolades
Erie Insurance Group has recognized an Indiana agency for its business development.
Thomas M. Frick Insurance Agency, an independent agency and brokerage which primarily represents Erie, recently was presented with Erie’s Triple Crown award. The sales award recognizes production of personal, commercial and life insurance policies.
The agency’s principal, Thomas M. “T.J.” Frick Jr., said it’s the first time the agency has won the year-end award, which was for 2013 production.
Frick said the agency has seen growth in the three insurance lines the award represents, but growth in life insurance and commercial policies have been particularly strong.
In fact, he said the agency this year has achieved Erie’s silver-level status for life insurance policy production, also a first for the agency. He said its first-quarter performance alone was enough to achieve the designation
The award follows other recent recognition from Erie, which presented the agency with its Founder’s Award, recognition for profitably on its book of business
Frick said he credits his staff for the successes.
“It’s a team effort,” he said. “I’m really proud of everybody.”
Frick acquired the business from his father, Thomas M. Frick, in 2012. The elder Frick opened the businesses as a scratch agent for Erie in 1966.
His son has been working to expand the agency since — he opened a second office in Homer City last year and has been putting a focus on commercial policies.
Aside from Erie, Frick Insurance also represents, among others, Progressive, Millville Mutual, White Pine and Foremost.
