Fire Chief's Convention continues today in Clymer

The 2014 Indiana County Fire Chief’s Convention began July 12 and continues today in Clymer.

Throughout the week, firefighters from different companies competed in events like the Firefighter’s 3-point shootout, a bucket brigade, a fire engine pumping contest and battle of the barrel. Contestants also competed in golf and softball tournaments.

Today, companies will compete in the battle of the barrel.

Today’s schedule of events:

• 8:30 a.m.: Battle of the barrel

• 3 to 5 p.m.: Judging of apparatus at Penns Manor Area High School

• 6 p.m.: Firefighter’s grand convention parade (lineup for parade at 3 p.m.)

• 7-9 p.m.: Music provided by Double A DJ Service

• 9 p.m.-1 a.m.: Glitz Band, Penns Manor High School majorettes, duck race behind fire station after the parade

• 10 p.m.: Parade trophy presentation
