First Commonwealth elects board director
First Commonwealth Financial Corp. has elected James G. Barone, of Indiana, to its board of directors.
A former bank executive with more than 30 years of extensive financial experience, Barone previously served as executive vice president, secretary and treasurer for S&T Bancorp, as well as president of S&T Investment Company. In these roles, he was responsible for the bank’s investment portfolio, asset/liability management, funding and investor relations activities.
Barone previously led the corporate investment activities at Integra Financial Corp. and Union National Corp., both in Pittsburgh. He also served as an investment officer and as a security analyst.
In addition to having been a chartered financial analyst, he completed the American Bankers Association National School of Bank Investments, the ABA Graduate School of Financial & Funds Management, and the Pennsylvania Bankers Association Trust School. He was a member of the Pittsburgh Society of Financial Analysts, the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts, the Pittsburgh Bond Club, and the Pittsburgh Security Traders Association.
Barone received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Allegheny College in Meadville. He earned his MBA from Northwestern University Graduate School of Management.
He resides in Indiana with his wife, Pat.
