Gazette parent promotes three
Indiana Printing and Publishing, which owns Gazette Printers and The Indiana Gazette, recently announced the promotions of three people.
• Paul Caruso has been promoted to IT manager in the prepress/design department at Gazette Printers.
Mostly recently he had served as a graphic designer.
In his new position, he is responsible for digital printing file creation and correcting; computer and network repair, troubleshooting and maintenance; variable data printing file creation; press scheduling; and customer education and training.
He has been with the company for more than eight years.
Caruso, of Indiana, has 18 years of IT experience, including as a self-employed IT professional, and attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
• Eric Smith has been named production supervisor in the electronic output department.
He had served as electronic output supervisor.
His new duties include overseeing the production and workflow of commercial web-based print jobs, managing a staff of seven people.
Smith has worked at Gazette Printers for 13 years and for The Indiana Gazette for 12 years.
He lives in Penn Run with his wife, Elaine Jacobs Smith, daughter Grace Smith and son Robert Smith.
• Beth Wood has been promoted to production supervisor.
In her new role, she is in charge of employee scheduling, working with the IT department, making sure all ads are being done in a timely manner for daily newspaper and special tabs, layout and production of numerous publications and some advertising design. Wood, who has been with the company for 25 years, now oversees eight people in the production department.
She lives in Indiana.
