Guidance center names new chief medical officer
The Community Guidance Center has appointed Dr. Suresh Sedhain as chief medical officer.
The Community Guidance Center is a nonprofit mental health care provider in White Township committed to providing high-quality mental health and intellectual disability services to empower individuals and families in the community to improve their lives.
In his 2 1/2 years with the Community Guidance Center, Sedhain has provided services to all populations in an outpatient clinic setting.
He also serves as attending psychiatrist for the Child and Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program.
ALPHA is a partial hospitalization program managed through the guidance center in coordination with the Indiana Area School District to provide short-term comprehensive treatment and scholastic intervention for children and adolescents with mental health issues that need a higher level of care.
Sedhain completed his residency in general psychiatry and his fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry from Drexel University, Allegheny General Hospital Campus, which is part of the West Penn Allegheny Health System in Pittsburgh. He is board certified in both general psychiatry and child/adolescent psychiatry.
“I am proud to be a member of the Community Guidance Center and I am pleased to serve the community by treating those dealing with mental health issues and increasing the awareness of mental health in the community,” Sedhain said in a news release.
