Hilton Garden opens adjacent to KCAC

The Hilton Garden Inn that has been under construction next to the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex on the edge of the IUP campus officially opened last week.

The six-story hotel along Wayne Avenue in White Township features 128 guest rooms, a restaurant and lounge, banquet and meeting facilities, and outdoor dining. The Hilton boasts a full-service restaurant, CH Fields Craft Kitchen, offering breakfast, lunch, dinner and room service. The restaurant sources American-style food using local ingredients. Hours are Monday through Friday 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Recreational facilities include an indoor swimming pool and complimentary fitness center featuring cardio and strength-training equipment. The hotel is located within walking distance of the Hoodlebug Trail.

Guests have access to 3,000 square feet of banquet and meeting space, including one ballroom, three meeting rooms and a boardroom, as well as complimentary Wi-Fi and a 24-hour business center.

The hotel is operated by Hospitality Asset Management Company, which owns nine lodging properties and four restaurants in Pennsylvania.

The company also manages several hotels in State College and Carlisle.

Ground was broken for the hotel in April 2015. The KCAC opened in March 2011.
