Family and friends of the Smail and Shotts families came together Saturday to dedicate a pavilion at the Plumville playground in honor of four victims of domestic violence.
Among them were Lorna and Ron Smail, at right, parents of Christine Beatty and grandparents of Sara and Amanda Beatty, who were killed June 1, 2012, by Christine’s estranged husband, Lewis Beatty. Also attending were Candice Shotts, wife of Richard Shotts, third from right, and Dorothy Shotts, his mother, seated. Richard was shot and killed June 3, 2012, by his son-in-law, Shaun Fairman.
Also shown is the plaque commemorating the Beattys.
