Indiana First holding shred day, food drive
Indiana First Bank is hosting a free Community Shred Day and Food Drive on Saturday at its Blairsville branch, April 29 at its Punxsutawney branch and May 6 at its Townfair branch in White Township.
This annual event is held to encourage people to make identity protection part of their regular routine and lessen their risk of identity theft. Identity theft occurs when someone steals your personal information and uses it without your permission.
It’s a serious crime that can disrupt your finances, credit history and reputation, and it takes time, money and patience to resolve. Identity protection necessitates thinking about your personal information as a valuable commodity and treating it with care.
Residents can take up to five boxes of confidential documents per person to any of the participating Indiana First Bank branches between 9 a.m. and noon. Documents will be shredded on site.
An addition to the annual Shred Day event this year is the food drive. Those attending Shred Day are encouraged to help Indiana First Bank fight hunger by bringing nonperishable food donations to the event.
Shred Day remains a free event, so donations are not required, simply encouraged.
Those making contributions will be able to leave their factory-sealed, nonperishable food items in the designated donation box. Indiana First Bank will take the donated items to the local food bank.
Call (800) 349-2814 with any questions or concerns regarding the event.
