Parking restrictions in effect during Elm Street Program
Some traffic and parking restrictions will be in effect Monday morning in the 500 block of School Street when the next round of Indiana’s Elm Street Program improvements begin.
The Elm Street Program is a state initiative that revitalizes residential areas near downtown business districts.
Dave Fairman, Indiana’s public works director, said that during the 120-day project, a new sanitary sewer main line and new laterals to homes will be installed, there will be improvements made to the storm sewer, the street will be repaved, new curbs will be built and new trees will be planted.
Indiana council in May accepted the low bid of $239,950 from Ray Winters & Sons Inc., of Indiana, to make the infrastructure improvements,
