Reading council to hold first program of year

on October 02, 2013 10:50 AM

The Indiana County Reading Council will sponsor its first program of the year on Oct. 10 at the Rustic Lodge, White Township.

Doors will open at 5:15 p.m. and dinner will begin at 5:45 p.m. The program, “Creating Environments of Success Through Universal Design for Learning and the Charlotte Danielson Model for Effective Teaching,” will follow dinner.

Unfortunately, not all students learn the same way. Of the students who should be successful, there are degrees of learner variability. This variability occurs in students’ expression, recognition and motivation with effective instruction. Bethann McCain will discuss how to support students in meeting success.

McCain is past president of KSRA and a Continuous School Improvement consultant at Central Intermediate Unit 10. She is in the process of completing her doctoral dissertation in curriculum and instruction at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

The cost is $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers.
