Senior law day planned

Aging Services Inc., the Indiana County Link to Aging, and District Attorney Patrick Dougherty will host Senior Citizen Law Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 29 at the Rustic Lodge, White Township.

Senior Citizen Law Day is an informative seminar to inform, protect and prevent Indiana County’s older adults from abuse and exploitation. Information will be provided on guardianships, security scams and fraud, wills, powers of attorney, long-term care, health directives, estate planning and more. This event is free and open to the public.

Speakers will include Dougherty; Ronald Costen, director of Protective Services at Temple University; Denise Getgen, from the Department of Aging; Brian Duke, secretary of aging; and local attorneys Sarah Ross, Thomas Johnson, Mike Clark, John Barbor and Jack Hanna.

Senior Citizen Law Day is designed to provide an unbiased, neutral forum for senior citizens, their families and caregivers.
